THE BEACHES
The
nearest beach is a short 5 minutes walk where
you will find Roberto's beach bar, open
April to October and serving snacks, hot &
cold meals and drinks until late. There are
sun beds and parasols for hire with views of
Gibraltar and North Africa. Further
along the beach there are water sports, wet
bikes etc. for hire, close by is Hotel Santa
Marta with sun beds and parasols.
Another popular beach is Costa Lita which
a long walk along the beach or by car accessable
from the Cancelada round about just following
the signs to the new five star Hotel Playa
Bella. Nearby is the ever popular Sharky´s
beach shack, serving food with a Cajun influence
and their specialty is Sunday roast, sun beds
and parasols are also available for hire with
live music on the beach every Saturday and Sunday
featuring many artists from TV's Stars in their
Eyes.
WILDLIFE PARK
Selwo ten
minutes away by car on the main road to Estepona
well signed and a must for all the family here
a safari bus will take you to see animals close
to their natural habitat Elephants, Tigers,
Lions, Monkeys, Hippo's a huge walk through
aviary and much more, with stunning views to
Gibraltar, North Africa and stretching
almost as far as Malaga, there are a
number of bars and restaurants and places to
rest and shelter from the heat, allow at least
four hours.
PLACES
TO VISIT
Vist the Marbella
shops and have a drink in the famous Orange
Square. Also take a stroll along the promenade
and the Golden Mile as far as Puerto Banus
which is famous for the boats and nightlife
until 6 am.
A market is held by the Puerto Banus bullring
every Saturday morning no food). San Pedro
is just 3km away with local shops and restaurants
a large market is also held their every Thursday
with plenty of fresh produce and gift ideas.
Estepona in the
other direction has a market every Wednesday,
take a stroll along the promenade or a visit
to the port where you will find plenty of bars
and restaurants overlooking the Marina some
providing live music in the evenings.
Gibraltar is 45 minutes away by car, why not
park outside and walk in, or go by coach. Take
tours of the rock and see the apes, the views,
history and cheap cigarettes are just some of
the attractions.
Sterling and Euros are both accepted don't forget
your PASSPORT.
The town of Mijas
is a must with its history, narrow streets
and stunning views to Fuengirola family
resort with hotels, bars and restaurants a long
promenade popular with the Spanish for a Sunday
stroll, a good sandy beach and Marina.
Benalmedena bars, restaurants, beaches
and an award winning Marina is well worth a
visit.
Historical Ronda famous for its bullring, exhibition
inside, the gorge and stunning views. Benahavis
a small Spanish village 10 minutes drive
into the mountains renown for its restaurants,
27 at the last count. Horse Riding there
are a number of establishments nearby.
Golf take your pick there are too many
to mention here but that's why they call it
the Costa del Golf.
